Proper Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

HOW TO PROPERLY PUT ON A FACE MASK

1. Ensure the face mask is clean and dry
2. Wash your hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer containing 70% alcohol before touching the mask
3. Place the face covering over your nose and mouth and secure the loops around your ears with its ties or elastics
4. The mask should completely cover your nose and mouth and fit snugly on the cheeks without any gaps
5. Wash your hands with warm water and soap or use hand sanitizer containing 70% alcohol after adjusting your mask
6. Avoid touching your face. If you touch your face you should immediately re-wash your hands as directed above

HOW TO PROPERLY REMOVE A FACE MASK

1. Wash your hands with warm water and soap or use hand sanitizer containing 70% alcohol
2. Remove the face mask by removing the loops at your ears
   1. Avoid touching the front of the mask when removing it
3. After removing the face covering, sanitize your hands as described above
